Dear Friends,

Labor Day Weekend is upon us. The reason for the holiday is to celebrate the American Worker. So, please take time this weekend to thank the Lord for your job(s) and to pray for those who are unemployed and their families. It is very tough in these economic times to survive. Pray for God's continued grace and mercy.

Bro. Garry Woodside will be leading the music and bringing the morning message. God sent Bro. Garry and his wife Jan to Chamberlain - again. He not only leads us in worship, but is able to preach as well. I encourage you to come and be encouraged in the Praise and Worship of our Lord Jesus Christ and the hearing of His Word. He is excited to share God's Word. Pray for him now as he prepares for Sunday. Pray for their traveling mercies also as they are out of town for work related training.

We will not have a Sunday night service due to Labor Day weekend. Sunday School will meet at 0945. We will be gearing up with Fall events in the next couple of weeks - watch the bulletin and get ready!

Thank you for your continued support and prayers during my illness. Somehow I have contracted a bug that won't leave. I am on another round of antibiotics and continue to be incapacitated. Thank you to everyone taking care of things during my absence. Especially Bro. Steve, Mickey, Chris, Gary, Garry, Frank and TR. Remember Rhonda also, she is really having to work harder than before during this time.

Continue to pray for Barbara as she continues to recover. Wendy undergoes another major chemo treatment Friday (This is the really powerful one). Also remember Oak Street Baptist and their Pastor, Joe Miller. He is a good friend of mine for many years and has just discovered he has late stages of multiple cancers. There are many others in need of prayer. While we most often speak of physical ailments and prayer requests, the ultimate prayer request is for those with a sin sick soul - those that do not know Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. We are blessed to know that no matter what, we have the hope of heaven. Those that have not placed their soul in the hands of Jesus do not have this comfort or hope. Pray harder and more often for their souls to be healed than for physical afflictions. That is the ultimate healing.

Are you living Holy? Remember the challenge from the last couple of Sunday nights? Remember to live holy as He is Holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16 - look it up and apply it to your life. The sermons since July 11 are on the website - follow the link at the bottom of the letter. They are updated with live links when they are available. Please share with others who may be encouraged or may be curious as to what services are like at Chamberlain. We are so blessed.

Please take a moment to read the bulletin. It contains a lot of information that you should be aware of as we look forward to the future here at Chamberlain.

I look forward to seeing you in church. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to meet. (423) 624-4323 ext. 103.
